360 Nature panorama of dawn from Mount Greylock in the Berkshires

After keeping close tabs on the weather, I drove down to Mt. Greylock in the Berkshire Mountains in September, 2000, to photograph the early morning view. I drove up out of the foggy valley well before sunrise to find a place to set up on the summit to do a 360 panorama.

This view is on the eastern side of the summit along the walkway that goes around the top from the tower to the parking lot. The sun rose in clear air above the fog giving a golden glow to the tower and dried grasses. The memorial tower marks the highest place in Massachusetts at 3491 feet.
